Let me explain what I think Lennart meant with those "And?" replies: Garrett Holmstrom wrote: > Lennart Poettering wrote: >> On Mon, 23.08.10 10:52, Garrett Holmstrom (gholms@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx) >> wrote: >>> * Removable media that appear in fstab are usually marked noauto >> >> And? > > Systemd should not try to mount them because the administrator > explicitly asked for them to *not* be mounted. A removable media device with no media in it cannot and will not be mounted anyway. >>> * I mount large filesystems after the boot process finishes so fscking >>> doesn't pause booting at $dayjob >> >> And? > > Systemd should not try to mount them because the administrator > explicitly asked for them to *not* be mounted. The whole idea of the semantics being discussed is that the boot process will NOT block on those file systems, so I don't see why this would be an issue. But I do see your other points. I'm just trying to explain what, I guess, the laconic "And?" replies meant. Kevin Kofler -- devel mailing list devel@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/devel
