Developers usually get track and fix bugs in their packages, but most can't get the time to test it in each software distro. One bug fixed in one package can cause lots of problems on a package group, even while the bug gets fixed. Unfortunately, things are not as easy as to get the last version of each application, package it and throw out the bundle.
