You appear to be the maintainer of usb_modeswitch.

For the purpose of making GSM connectivity work on the OLPC XO-1, I've
backported usb_modeswitch and usb_modeswitch-data to Fedora 11. It's
been tested in the field and it fixes some Huawei models that were
previously unusable.

Would you mind if I pushed this update before the Fedora 11 repositories
freeze?
