But I'm asking about -pthread option (which is detect/use for this package).

According to GCC man page
    -pthread
        Adds support for multithreading with the pthreads library.
        This option sets flags for both the preprocessor and linker.

Ok, this options is also note as an only IA-64, RS/6000, PowerPC and
SPARC option.

Shouldn't this option imply -lpthread on x86 ?
(which seems the case for x86_64, as the DSO bug only affects i686).
