If the latest version of fossil needs the latest version of sqlite you might find that you'll have to constantly be packaging slightly older versions of fossil to match the version of sqlite in Fedora. Alternately, if the newer versions of sqlite are API and ABI compatible with the older ones, you might be able to convince the maintainer to update the Fedora package more frequently. Since sqlite has become such an integral part of the distribution, though, this might be too costly a choice (since upgrading to newer sqlite versions would be throwing out the QA done against the older versions for pretty important pieces of Fedora). -Toshio
