Sorry - I was going off references from the VAAPI site, I didn't check with the actual driver package. http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/vaapi lists VIA / S3 Graphics Accelerated Linux Driver under 'Drivers (back-ends) that implement VA API'.
