Yes, it is ... because it is much more self-contained (you have just one 
huge dependency containing everything -- libqt; that's hyperbole, but not 
that much). Gnome is that maze of zillion interdependent libraries which 
need to work together. Sometimes one model has advantage over another 
sometimes not. C'est la vie.
