install image, which installs from "Everything"+"updates".

IMO, people only don't use this way of installation, because it's not
(rsp. poorly) supported by Fedora (by you?).
I am using it, because it's the only option to perform a clean
"F(N-1) + updates" to "F(N)+updates" and to circumvent the bugs
"F(N) Gold" typically contains.
I am pretty sure, people would use it, it was a bit better supported and
_advertised_.
I don't know how you build images, but it's hard to image building such
an image frequently (e.g. whenever any package it contains has changed)
is "such kind of expensive".
The build time, test time[1], mirror time/space is all still there... those
are the expensive parts.
Build time/size of a minimal network-install image?
test time would be close to zero, because the public would be testing
what you consider to be "your current best" and you would immediately
replace the iso in case of bugs (Essentially the same cycle that of any
other arbitrary application/package).
An alternative would be, to ship a script to let people build such an
image themselves. It would not help everybody in all situations, but it
at least help people who have some (other) version of Fedora running
somewhere.
As it turns out, we ship all the tools to build the distribution the
exact way we do! And as David said, he's been working with Jeroen for
occasional updated anaconda packages.
OK, in which package can I find your "mkimage" script.
