I upgraded my laptop from F10 to F11, with X running, via yum. It worked
flawlessly and rebooted clean.

if it's the preferred method then it's better to forget the install dvd upgrade method. and even forget about fedora release!

Anecdotal evidence means very little.

what do you refer to?
