To clarify, coreutils needs automake only for development,
but it is nice not to have to build it as described here:
http://git.savannah.gnu.org/gitweb/?p=coreutils.git;a=blob;f=README-prereq;hb=HEAD

I am surprised it was pused to F9 & F10
