This is the result: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=501122 I have reported for weeks that I can't get more than 24h of reliable sound: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=500657 (I have a hard time imagining that I'm the only one experiencing this) Moreover, my comment about "How is a regular user supposed to use this system?" was reflecting the fact that we have a strange combination of volume controls and sliders that have the interesting property of allowing too little control than is required in real life, all the while being obscure and complicated with respect to what they control. (please see https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=501122 for info). However, this rant is about more than just bug reports. The current situation is not acceptable. I have been reporting for years that I do not have reliable sound, yet little has changed. The fact that some systems work is not indicative of reliability. It is more informative in such cases to look at systems that do _not_ work, like mine. There is a lot of emphasis placed on all sort of fancy features (like network support, etc) all the while basic sound in widely used apps like Flash and Skype having _serious_ problems. And when they are reported as such, you are told off that these are closed source apps.
