I agree; extension developers are in a similar situation to package
maintainers here; they need to test their product against a moving upstream
and re-release when working. The fact that they haven't done this yet is just
a clue that it's not time to update Firefox/Thunderbird.
The only time you get extension developers to update[1] is when the
final Firefox update is released. Should Firefox releases wait on
extension developers? Think about that for a second. Really think about
that. If an extension you use is that important to you you should create
a bug on mozilla.org for a feature request and make it a blocker of the
next release. Good luck on that.
This whole thread so far is sensationalist crap.
Every day people bitch that Fedora is not bleeding enough. Now we have
people bitching about a Fedora release, not even at GA, being too
bleeding. Stop, read, and listen to yourselves before replying to this
thread again. This discussion happens constantly and it is tiresome. The
time wasted in these type of discussions is better spent elsewhere. Work
on getting your extension developer involved in Firefox updates. (*GASP*)
[1] Sure, some extensions such as Adblock stay on top of Firefox
changes, but not all extensions do.
