I experience exactly the same, happens to me every 2 or 3 days.

I already filed a bug about it:
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=21441

Would be great if you could leave your comment + Xorg.log + photo
there, to generate some noise about that issue.

And yes, this is part of the intel driver issues ... it seems it will
take some time to reach the quality 2.4 had :-/
