well here (F10, ext4):

filefrag /var/lib/rpm/Packages
/var/lib/rpm/Packages: 8 extents found
du -hs /var/lib/rpm/Packages
52M	/var/lib/rpm/Packages

What did you do to get 800+ ?

(I did a db rebuild a while ago that might have changed / improved it)
