As a matter of fact, just last night, my own server-cum-desktop was brought to a screeching halt when the cat decided to walk across the UPS, and apparently hit the switch on that. There's not much of a software fix for that, is there? And yes, I am a cat ownee and an emacs user (though one that definitely doesn't appreciate the loss of ctrl-alt-bsp). - -- J.
