Should I be able to hibernate a NFS/LDAP using system?

Before I start filing bugs (and to help determine where if needed), is it reasonable for me to expect to be able to put a desktop machine that uses LDAP authentication and NFS home directories into hibernate? Currently it seems to get hung up trying to do some work that attempts to query the LDAP server and syncing the filesystems (which seems to need NFS up) after NM has brought down the network interface.

Thoughts?
