opened ACLs. Sponsors are the people who can accept new contributors in

Well, with this definition, "provenpackager" is an acknowledgment of
"technical skills", while "sponsors" is a "social/political role".
It also doesn't have any connection to the role "sponsors" once used to
have: To guide and educate new-comer packagers.
