There's already a bugreport open for pan at Fedora:

In a upstream bugreport -
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=541676 - work has begun on a
patch. It compiles with the newest GMime, but breaks important
functionality of pan (like reading a message).
