Unfortunately, those features never got completed (mainly because Jacob Rideout, who wanted to implement them, "vanished"). The Sonnet in KDE 4 is mainly a port of KDE 3's KSpell2 with a slightly cleaned-up API. Features beyond spellchecking may be added in a later 4.x release, but at the moment they're just not there. :-( The algorithms which were supposed to be used should be still there on developer blogs, but they haven't been implemented in Sonnet.
