sis900 module not being included in initrd.img? (bz479327)

I've been having trouble getting rawhide to install on my ix86 test
machine due to a missing network module (sis900)

I've examined the configs in the recent kernel packages and the module
is enable and appears to build; however, it is not present in the
initrd.img files that appear in the rawhide updates.

I'm not sure where to look further for information about what happens to
this module. The koji task succedes building the i686 kernel, but the
initrd.img archive fails to contain the module.

I entered a bugzilla (#479327) against the kernel, bit it's gotten no
attention in a week. Should the bug be reassigned to mkinitrd or some
other component?

Is anyone really interested in missing modules in initrd.img?
