However, I think it means that you don't get to use them at all. So, I think to fix this, you either need to build the server with --disable-builtin-fonts or apply this patch: http://cvs.fedoraproject.org/viewvc/rpms/xorg-x11-server/devel/xserver-1.4.99-builtin-fonts.patch?view=markup which gets you both builtin and loadable fonts.
