I (and maybe others) still have problems with kernel modesetting and my ATi RS482 (RS485). Dave Airlie fixed it but then it broke again. Bug filed: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=472310.This is the reason I still stick with f9. Maybe I can help if I manage to dump the video bios of my card. According to this http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=article&item=amd_atombios_dumper&num=1 it should be possible but rhd_conntest works only for R500 and R600.
