As Axel is saying, Debian=upstream. The most useful page for packages,
IMHO, is the somewhat hidden 'qa page', aka "developer information";
for fakeroot it is here

   http://packages.qa.debian.org/f/fakeroot.html

on its right-hand-side there's changelog link

  http://packages.debian.org/changelogs/pool/main/f/fakeroot/current/changelog
