And out of curiousity why aren't you using the > provided autogen.sh and letting it handle this? Hi Stan, that was the case, i used the provided autogen.sh, but it likes only automake-1.7. i installed all automake packages, included in FC2, coz i know now, that it is not a case of neither/or with automake, but autogen.sh, provided by the gtk+ cvs, will not run and depends every time on automake-1.7 . The solution from Steve in this thread, solves it. i run aclocal, automake --add-missing followed by autoconf, so i can compile it. regardz Michael > If you are it might > just work to change automake-1.7 to automake-1.9 ir just automake and > rerum the script. > > -sb > > On Thu, 2004-08-05 at 11:55 +0200, M.Clasen wrote: > > hi ppl, > > > > i like to recompile the gtk+ package from the gnome cvs. > > > > while calling ./autoconf, there comes an error, autoconfs depends > > automake-1.7. > > > > i got the sources for automake 1.9, rebuild it fine and tryed again, > > but the autoconf script of gtk+ likes only automake 1.7. > > > > i tryed to edit the autoconf script, but i go on thin ice there and got > > other errors underlaying my missediting of the gtk+ cvs autoconf script. > > > > how can i compile the gtk+ cvs sources, what must i do here ? > > > > must i downgrade automake to 1.7 ?? > > > > regardz > > > > Michael > > > > -- > > Webmaster, Systemtechnik/Administration > > E-Mail: webmaster@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > > On Web: www.hg-carstyling.de > > Fackenburger Allee 55a > > 23554 Lübeck / Germany > > Tel.: +49(0)451-4505952 > > Fax.: +49(0)451-4505954 > > > > > > > -- > Stan Bubrouski <stan@xxxxxxxxxxx> -- Webmaster, Systemtechnik/Administration E-Mail: webmaster@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx On Web: www.hg-carstyling.de Fackenburger Allee 55a 23554 Lübeck / Germany Tel.: +49(0)451-4505952 Fax.: +49(0)451-4505954
