FC2 -- support for monolithic kernel?

i'd like to hear some comments of you regarding a monolithic kernel without modules.

i like to use fedora for firewalls/gateways. for such a system i always strip the
minimum system by all possible rpm's. in addition i always build a static kernel
with a minimum set of features.

it has been always the case (FC2T2, FC1, RH9, RH8, RH73, ...) that changes in
        /etc/rc.sysinit
has been necessary to get the system up cleanly. right now (FC1, FC2T2) there is
a problem in the acpi section. (modules are loaded even if you pass the ``nomodules''
kernel option).

i am wondering if you want this to be fixed, or if you plan fedora being a system
only running its own supported (modularized) kernel.
