Fedora Core 1 is the released version and will stay with the 2.4 kernel. For development we focus on Fedora Core 2 which will be based on the 2.6 kernel and if you want to move on to really newer versions you can try out the Fedora Core 2 test releases. greetings, Florian La Roche
