kudzu blows Linux

Hi,

  With acpi=on kudzu blows Linux on this laptop, so I suspect it is
something to do with acpi.

  If the problem can't be easily solved, is there any list kudzu checks
for known problems, and is there something that can be used to identify
models like mine so it doesn't blow up?
