I don't really care where the escape hatch lives, but it needs to be
something that can be easily explained to people with frustrating problems,
and which ideally does not involve the command line -- at least, not given
our current positioning. 

I don't think we have an easy GUI tool for configuring this kind of thing
for systemd, do we?
