Observations on Wayland status

Hi,

I've been using Wayland on F24 almost exclusively for the past several
weeks. I'm really impressed with the experience; it's feeling very very
close. Good job to the developers.

I've noticed just two issues which I find sufficiently annoying to
complain about:

 1) Sometimes keyboard or mouse input randomly stops working in gedit.
In such cases I often have to close and restart. I've never noticed
this in X11; has anybody else noticed it?

 2) Opening text files and URLs is frustrating, because gedit and
Epiphany no longer grab focus. That is, under X11, if you double click
a file in nautilus or a URL in anything, you'll immediately see the
file open in gedit/Epiphany, either the app will launch a new window on
the current workspace or it will switch workspaces (each app is
slightly different). Empathy does something similar, too. But under
Wayland, there is no user feedback at all, and you think the operation
failed until you think to switch workspaces. This is a complicated
issue; I filed https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=766284

It would be great if the relevant developers could look into these
issues.
