You can test if it will work or not now by temporarily moving
/usr/bin/gpg2 to a safe place before trying to send your mail, which
should cause Evolution to fall back to using original gpg.

I think you'll also need to uncomment the UseAgent line in gpg.conf,
unfortunately. :(
