Well, just because it has a UI and icon doesn't mean it automatically gets included in GNOME Software.  The requirements are higher than that (no Gtk1 apps or  apps which don't have a high resolution icon, appdata etc) and is getting more stringent with time.  That is a fine design goal if it was supposed to cater to purely desktop apps I suppose but the result of is that I cannot trust GNOME Software search because it might be excluding something I find useful and the filtering is not something I can configure. So I end up using dnf in the command line even though I would love to use GNOME Software more.
