Just to be clear: having multiple kernels installed should not be an
excuse for using totally undigestible boot loader configuration and
shipping fragile shell scripts for manipulating it.

We really need to use the boot loader spec by default. Is there any
reason why the support for it was added to grub, but not enabled ?
