I think the obvious fix is to put compiz-gnome back in comps > until F15 / GNOME 3. [As desktop-effects maintainer, and nominal compiz maintainer for RHEL] I don't really have much of an opinion on it, if compiz was in comps for f13, it probably should be in f14 too to avoid not having any default-installed composited desktop, but certainly compiz bugs aren't something that I'm going to try and fix for f14 myself. (Note that even less will I fix Metacity compositor issues; compiz is the recommended Fedora 14 compositor for GNOME 2.) compiz is definitely not going to be default-installed for f15 and desktop-effects is going away; for Fedora 15 with GNOME 3 we will have: GNOME 3 Shell as default GNOME experience Legacy GNOME as fallback (and selectable if you need it) Which needs a completely different user experience than the desktop-effects model of pick-your-UI. So the Fedora 15 Compiz experience (if someone wants to create one) will be different; it's going to have to be an entirely different session and not an integrated option within the default Fedora desktop. - Owen -- desktop mailing list desktop@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/desktop
