I don't really have much of an opinion on it, if compiz was in comps for
f13, it probably should be in f14 too to avoid not having any
default-installed composited desktop, but certainly compiz bugs aren't
something that I'm going to try and fix for f14 myself.

(Note that even less will I fix Metacity compositor issues; compiz is
the recommended Fedora 14 compositor for GNOME 2.)

compiz is definitely not going to be default-installed for f15 and
desktop-effects is going away; for Fedora 15 with GNOME 3 we will have:

 GNOME 3 Shell as default GNOME experience
 Legacy GNOME as fallback (and selectable if you need it)

Which needs a completely different user experience than the
desktop-effects model of pick-your-UI. So the Fedora 15 Compiz
experience (if someone wants to create one) will be different; it's
going to have to be an entirely different session and not an integrated
option within the default Fedora desktop.
