Here's two articles about how Novell is integrating with Active Directory.
 From the looks of it, it's simple, quick, and intuitive to:

* Authenticate against Active Directory
* Create home directories on login
* Cache authentication (for laptops, for example)
* Get a Kerberos ticket for passwordless ssh
