If you are using gdm

# nano /usr/share/xsessions/wmi.desktop

[Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
Name=Evil Window Manager
Exec=evilwm
TryExec=evilwm
# no icon yet, only the top three are currently used
Icon=
Type=Application

Change accorindingly as mine is set for evilwm obviously.
