No, its off by default and has been for ages

In fact, the users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx/discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx as well as
IssueZilla has heard much about this issue

It is a user defined task - especially in a networked environment,
turning on autosave when home directories are NFS mounted isn't the
wisest thing to do
