Canon S300 USB printer os FC 3 not working.

I'm working on a box with a Cannon S300 USB printer attached. When I booted up after installing Kudzu detected the printer and seemed to configure it without any trouble.

When I went to print something, nothing. No error message-no printing. When I examined the configuration it said that it is hooked up to /dev/usb/lp0. That doesn't exist.

I suspect udev. I unpluged the printer from the computer and listed the contents of /dev. I plugged it back in and listed the contents again. No difference.

Has anyone successfully used this printer on Fedora 3? If so how?
