Dear Arthur.

Thank you for your directions...

I'm assuming you meant if it's true about FC3. The answer is yes, I am however unsure if apt is available by default install.

apt is not available by default in the installation. Last night i updated from FC2 to FC3 and it went smoothly, however i did not check wehter or not the gui for yum or smart where included.

I noticed that the native RPM package manager has changed between FC2 and FC3, can it handle isolated RPM installs?

I don't understand the above question

You can safely ignore this Arthur...I was dead tired when i was writting this and had probably "lost my marbles".

For the time the installation and deinstallation of system RPMs is done through anaconda. And anaconda exists in FC3 too.
However, this installer can not handle isolated RPMs in the way YAST of Suse does. For example...I downloaded anjuta and wanted to install it.....There was no application associated with it so i installed it manually with RPM. The ideal case for me would be a tool that would check dependencies and handle installation.... (I believe the links you sent will probably do the job)

Thanks a lot

Athanasios Anastasiou.
