1. Configure the yum, apt, up2date and smartpm configuration files to match one another.
2. Enable adding or replacing source sites with the repackager sites like freshrpms, dag, newrpms, atrpms, dries, and kde-redhat, among others.
3. Launch it as part of Anaconda, so new installations can be set up from the outset so that clicking on the up2date icon can be used to upgrade and install all kinds of packages from many sources in a compatible manner.
