One of the first things we suggest new designers do is look at our ticket queue (http://pagure.io/design/issues) to see if there are any open tickets that look interesting that you might want to work on. It's also a good idea to attend one of our every-other-week meetings to introduce yourself, meet other team members, and get help with your ticket (or getting help in finding a ticket to work on!) We do a lot of ticket triage in these meetings. Our next meeting will be Tue Jan 16 at 1700 UTC (https://apps.fedoraproject.org/calendar/design/2018/1/15/#m3152) but if that time doesn't work, you can join #fedora-design at a time convenient for you to see if any of us are around to chat!
