I can do some tries today after my talk (I will give a talk in a couple of hours.) So if this afternoon can someone login on IRC to help me a little and check the mockups, I can start work (probably) after 22UTC

Do any of our Blender-heads (I'm looking at you, Mola & Tatica! :) )
have any experience achieving these types of designs in Blender?

Fyre also comes to mind, but I think it might be a bit challenging to
get the look we want.
