This is a pretty picture in blue, but it's a bit too high-energy to make for a good desktop background. Desktop backgrounds should generally be smoother and less obvious to the eye, so that they don't clash with icons and draw people's eyes away from the objects they are actually looking for. The design team has been taking suggestions and is supposed to be deciding on an Alpha cut of the wallpaper for next Monday.
