It's true :)
If you use inkscape or web dessign is ok to use exact colors because you see the same colors  .
I use color management to provide better color fidelity with fedora logo.
But in 3D the colors is change because is light and more...
On web dessign some colors is not safest for the same reason - rendering.

This is as simple as this: the logo is a Trade Mark. Changing the colors
is NOT allowed.
