So we have this bug:

Where the user noticed that larger cursors aren't animated. That's
always been true because we never finished the cursors at at the larger
sizes.

I was wondering if anyone would be willing to tackle this?

There is a huge problem with our current (Bluecurve) icon theme: the source is available only in raster (Photoshop) format, so to make anything with it you have to basically redraw it (with the lack of any written guidelines). If someone is interested in the task, here are the files: https://fedorahosted.org/bluecurve/browser/bluecurve/cursors

But there appears a logical question: if we moved past Bluecurve as an icon theme, is not logical to go with a fresh cursor theme too?

We had some people trying to create cursor themes from scratch, the most notable effort being related to the Echo theme[1], but as Echo is somewhat in a limbo, the cursor theme is in a worse shape.

note: I don't see on art.gnome.org of gnome-look.org categories for cursor themes to propose something else as a base.
