This is the reason of having some consecutive rounds, to see what works and what do not.
As for looking ancient, isn't that the purpose of steampunk?
My suggestion would be to go for the neon theme.
Then consider invited to make a formal submission. We will see in Round 1 and 2 which theme is better.
