--------------------------------------------------------------------- Fedora Update Notification FEDORA-2006-232 2006-03-29 --------------------------------------------------------------------- Product : Fedora Core 5 Name : cpio Version : 2.6 Release : 16.FC5 Summary : A GNU archiving program. Description : GNU cpio copies files into or out of a cpio or tar archive. Archives are files which contain a collection of other files plus information about them, such as their file name, owner, timestamps, and access permissions. The archive can be another file on the disk, a magnetic tape, or a pipe. GNU cpio supports the following archive formats: binary, old ASCII, new ASCII, crc, HPUX binary, HPUX old ASCII, old tar and POSIX.1 tar. By default, cpio creates binary format archives, so that they are compatible with older cpio programs. When it is extracting files from archives, cpio automatically recognizes which kind of archive it is reading and can read archives created on machines with a different byte-order. Install cpio if you need a program to manage file archives. --------------------------------------------------------------------- * Sat Mar 25 2006 Peter Vrabec <pvrabec@xxxxxxxxxx> 2.6-16.FC5 - fix (#186339) on ppc and s390 --------------------------------------------------------------------- This update can be downloaded from: http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/updates/5/ 56c8d2f5a3a3b45f1ed14bf2f0e09f13c02ceff7 SRPMS/cpio-2.6-16.FC5.src.rpm 86610878307a771ad184f784b943cd0fdfd2b325 ppc/cpio-2.6-16.FC5.ppc.rpm f34d09f14a001e8fecbd6887beb640c8aa8f994c ppc/debug/cpio-debuginfo-2.6-16.FC5.ppc.rpm 0817142e652fdfaca3747fbabfe82794fcf5bf98 x86_64/cpio-2.6-16.FC5.x86_64.rpm dba05493c7c32e1731c0ed4272fe4165a28e5017 x86_64/debug/cpio-debuginfo-2.6-16.FC5.x86_64.rpm 5033c9c855fd19ec0ab67260e9e5772e0fc5da60 i386/cpio-2.6-16.FC5.i386.rpm e242c629073c32fea6c4e62e37217659ae676862 i386/debug/cpio-debuginfo-2.6-16.FC5.i386.rpm This update can be installed with the 'yum' update program.
