--------------------------------------------------------------------- Fedora Update Notification FEDORA-2005-649 2005-08-03 --------------------------------------------------------------------- Product : Fedora Core 3 Name : gimp Version : 2.2.8 Release : 0.fc3.2 Summary : The GNU Image Manipulation Program. Description : The GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) is a powerful image composition and editing program, which can be extremely useful for creating logos and other graphics for webpages. The GIMP has many of the tools and filters you would expect to find in similar commercial offerings, and some interesting extras as well. The GIMP provides a large image manipulation toolbox, including channel operations and layers, effects, sub-pixel imaging and anti-aliasing, and conversions, all with multi-level undo. The GIMP includes a scripting facility, but many of the included scripts rely on fonts that we cannot distribute. The GIMP FTP site has a package of fonts that you can install by yourself, which includes all the fonts needed to run the included scripts. Some of the fonts have unusual licensing requirements; all the licenses are documented in the package. Get ftp://ftp.gimp.org/pub/gimp/fonts/freefonts-0.10.tar.gz and ftp://ftp.gimp.org/pub/gimp/fonts/sharefonts-0.10.tar.gz if you are so inclined. Alternatively, choose fonts which exist on your system before running the scripts. --------------------------------------------------------------------- * Thu Jul 28 2005 Nils Philippsen <nphilipp@xxxxxxxxxx> - fix gimptool manpage symlink * Mon Jul 25 2005 Nils Philippsen <nphilipp@xxxxxxxxxx> - 2.2.8 - version 2.2.8 - clean up file list generation a bit - gimptool manpage is in section 1 not 5 * Fri May 13 2005 Nils Philippsen <nphilipp@xxxxxxxxxx> - fix inline asm of MMX/SSE optimizations instead of using -mmmx and the like * Fri May 13 2005 Nils Philippsen <nphilipp@xxxxxxxxxx> - fix cpuinstructionset patch so that it actually uses CPU-specific optimizations * Wed May 11 2005 Nils Philippsen <nphilipp@xxxxxxxxxx> - use -mmmx/sse/sse2/... only for the relevant source files so that extended instruction sets only get used on suitable CPUs (#157409) * Mon May 9 2005 Nils Philippsen <nphilipp@xxxxxxxxxx> - version 2.2.7, fixes bug in SSE2 assembly for Lighten Only layer mode (#145771) and various other bugs - on x86 and x86_64, use -msse and -msse2 to accomodate newer compilers --------------------------------------------------------------------- This update can be downloaded from: http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/updates/3/ b6dd7f5706123f1000a4e76a489097d6 SRPMS/gimp-2.2.8-0.fc3.2.src.rpm e37968c45c980883c38f640631f217b2 x86_64/gimp-2.2.8-0.fc3.2.x86_64.rpm 523c052c0afbe4e49f8b268c8f162814 x86_64/gimp-devel-2.2.8-0.fc3.2.x86_64.rpm 8af221833e02437ea8ca2928d1f88ea8 x86_64/debug/gimp-debuginfo-2.2.8-0.fc3.2.x86_64.rpm 5ae30204ddc8510051fb84e7b980a4ff i386/gimp-2.2.8-0.fc3.2.i386.rpm 8d8b11725e2d5163dfa2b9c6e293d200 i386/gimp-devel-2.2.8-0.fc3.2.i386.rpm f43573660b41bcfd05440a8215677815 i386/debug/gimp-debuginfo-2.2.8-0.fc3.2.i386.rpm This update can also be installed with the Update Agent; you can launch the Update Agent with the 'up2date' command. --------------------------------------------------------------------- -- fedora-announce-list@xxxxxxxxxx http://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-announce-list
