the U.S. Food and Drug Administration Office of Women’s Health (FDA OWH) National Mammography Day Thunderclap on October 20, 2017.
Mammograms can help save lives! They help find breast cancer at an early stage, which can lead to early treatment, a range of treatment options, and increased chances of survival. However, many women do not get regular mammography screenings. We need your help to spread awareness about the importance of regular mammograms.
You and your partners are key in helping spread a lifesaving message: early detection matters. Together, we can inspire women across the country to learn more about breast cancer screening and to get regular mammograms. Please consider joining the National Mammography Day Thunderclap!

More Information
What’s the FDA’s role? The FDA’s Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA)
Program regulates the standards for mammography machines and training for the people who provide mammography services. Under MQSA, all mammography facilities must be certified. Women can look for the MQSA certificate when they go to get their mammogram.
For
more information about why mammograms are important, how women should prepare for one, and how women can find an FDA-certified facility to get a mammogram, go to the FDA OWH website.
