Message from the Director

FDA works to address the health issues impacting women across the lifespan. In this update you will find tips for young women leaving for college, resources to help women of all ages maintain eye health, and information on pregnancy research.

Enhancing the health of mothers and their babies is a priority for FDA. This month, I encourage you to learn about how FDA makes a difference in the lives of pregnant women. In a new blog, we outline some of the ways FDA is working to improve information on the medical products used by pregnant women. Please also visit our pregnancy webpage and share important safety information on FDA-regulated products with pregnant women in your family and community. Through scientific research and outreach, OWH continues to be a catalyst for promoting pregnancy initiatives. We look forward to working with our FDA colleagues and other partners on the Task Force on Research Specific to Pregnant Women and Lactating Women.

Marsha Henderson, Assistant Commissioner for Women's Health
