Message from the Director

As we close out yet another busy summer, OWH is working to advance our many scientific and outreach projects. I encourage you to read this update to learn more about resources for back to school planning, clinical trials outreach and breastfeeding mothers. In addition, you will find opportunities to make your voice heard at FDA and other information on FDA regulated products. Follow us on Twitter to stay up to date on topics like Zika, clinical trials and other women’s health content that matter to you.

OWH’s Diverse Women in Clinical Trials Awareness Campaign continues to educate women about the importance of participating in clinical trials. Use our new partner toolkit to raise awareness in your community. The toolkit includes sample social media messages and other resources in English and Spanish to help in your outreach.

Public Workshop on Diabetes

On April 29, 2016, FDA’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER), is sponsoring a public workshop entitled “Diabetes Outcome Measures Beyond Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c).”

The purpose of this public workshop is to have a forum for dialogue on the extent to which the current regulatory paradigm for antidiabetic drug therapies addresses the needs of patients with diabetes and to identify additional outcomes, beyond HbA1c.
